This Spring, Johannesburg’s choice for home improvement enthusiasts will be expanding with the opening of LEROY MERLIN’s official flagship store in Stoneridge Centre, Edenvale – just across from Greenstone Shopping Centre.
LEROY MERLIN is a French-born company established in 1923 and with already 1,300 stores in over 13 countries, their level of expertise is attested to this.
There are two very big things that stand out for me at LEROY MERLIN. One is that they run a number of DIY workshops that are free to attend and they have a great project line-up too, such as learning to make a wine rack or a slatted headboard. Attendance is limited so be sure to book early and you can book by joining their Workshop Club group on their Facebook page.
Then secondly, the fact that I can go in-store with any home improvement idea and I will have access to experts who will help take my project from concept to reality is a big win. I don’t have all the knowledge (yet!) so it helps to be able to run through my idea with someone who does, and who can help find the right tools and products for the job and easily break down the project step-by-step with me. I’ve also contacted them via email, phone and even through Facebook’s direct messaging with questions, and they have been very responsive and helpful.
LEROY MERLIN currently has a concept CAMPUS store in the Stoneridge Centre where they are also running various workshops on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I will be joining for at least one of these upcoming workshops soon, so you can get a feel for how they are run. They have a website and online store at leroymerlin.co.za, but if you’re going to savour the moment and wait for the flagship store to open, be sure to then follow LEROY MERLIN on Facebook and Instagram for the latest specials and tips.
